Apex Legacy Accounts Are Back for a Limited Time
Apex Trader Funding has reopened its Legacy evaluation line across six balance tiers and three platforms, with 90% off the first month. Here is what the accounts include, what they cost after the intro period, and the deadline to lock in the pricing.
@ApexTradeFund posted the Legacy Accounts announcement on X on August 26, 2026, listing the discounted price for all six tiers. Pricing was cross-checked against the official Apex Legacy Products page.

Apex Trader Funding is running a limited-time reopening of its Legacy evaluation accounts, a product line the company sells separately from its current standard evaluation lineup. The official Legacy Products page states plainly that these are Legacy Products, "a different program than other product offerings," and points traders to a dedicated FAQ section for the specifics before they buy.
In practice, that means the rules, fees, and account structures on the Legacy page should be read on their own terms. A guide written about Apex's current standard evaluations, including Apex Trader Funding's activation fee structure, was not written with the Legacy line in mind, and the two should not be assumed to match feature for feature.
What has not changed is the core mechanic: pay a discounted monthly fee to attempt an evaluation, hit the profit goal without breaching the trailing threshold, and move to a funded Performance Account if you pass.
How the 90/80 Discount Actually Works
The Apex announcement is specific about two different discount rates, and the distinction matters for anyone budgeting past month one:
- First month: 90% off. This is the headline price shown across the signup pages, for example $16.70 on the 25K tier against a $167 regular rate.
- Recurring months: 80% off. Once the account rolls into its second billing cycle, the discount narrows, and the monthly charge roughly doubles from the intro price.
On the 25K tier, that works out to $16.70 for month one and approximately $33.40 for each month after, if the evaluation is not completed within the first cycle. The gap scales proportionally across every tier, since all six regular prices sit at round numbers ending in $7.
Legacy Pricing by Platform
All six tiers carry identical contract limits, profit goals, trailing thresholds, and the same $125 one-time Performance Account activation fee across all three platforms. Pricing and specifications below are pulled directly from the Apex Legacy Products page.

What Stands Out in the Fine Print
A few structural details are worth flagging before comparing this to other Apex products or competing prop firms:
- No daily drawdown. None of the six Legacy tiers list a daily drawdown limit, based on the published specifications.
- No scaling plan. The Legacy tiers do not include an account scaling plan, unlike some funded programs that increase contract allowances as balance grows.
- Fixed trailing threshold. Each tier uses a static trailing threshold rather than a threshold that locks at breakeven, and the dollar amount differs by tier, from $1,500 on the 25K account up to $7,500 on the 300K account.
- One-time PA fee is separate. The $125 activation fee applies once a trader passes and converts to a funded Performance Account. It is not discounted by the promotion.
These are the same categories worth checking on any funded account before purchase, discounted or not. For a deeper breakdown of how trailing drawdown mechanics work on Apex accounts generally, see Apex trailing drawdown explained.
Is the Discount Worth Buying Into?
A 90% discount lowers the cost of attempting an evaluation. It does not lower the difficulty of passing one. The profit goals and trailing thresholds above are unchanged by the sale price, and Apex's own risk disclosure describes all activity as simulated trading for evaluation purposes, not live market execution.
Passing a futures funding evaluation takes consistent execution, tight risk control, and the emotional discipline to walk away from a losing day before the trailing threshold does it for you. Public examples of funded traders and payouts are worth reviewing for context, but they represent accounts that survived the evaluation and stayed within the rules. They are not a representative sample of every account that started one, and survivorship bias makes it easy to overestimate how common a payout is.
If you are weighing whether a Legacy account fits your approach, it is worth reading through how the Apex evaluation-to-funded model works in full before paying, discounted price or not.
