Apex Trader Funding withdrawal methods: how to get paid as a US or international trader.
A verified guide to Apex Trader Funding withdrawal methods, covering ACH setup for US traders, Plane setup for international traders, withdrawal limits, payout timelines, and what to do when something goes wrong.
The two withdrawal methods at a glance
Apex uses different payment infrastructure depending on whether you are a US-based or international trader. The method is determined by your country of residence as declared in your Apex account. You cannot choose between methods or request a different payment method once your residency is set.
ACH Direct Deposit
Plane
Neither method supports crypto payments. Apex does not offer Bitcoin, USDC, or any other cryptocurrency withdrawal option. Payouts are bank transfer only.
Setting up ACH withdrawal for US-based traders
US traders set up their withdrawal method directly in the Apex dashboard before requesting any payout. The setup takes under five minutes and only needs to be completed once unless you change bank accounts.
-
1
Log in to your Apex dashboard at dashboard.apextraderfunding.com
Use your Apex account credentials to log in. These are the same credentials you use to access your evaluation and PA dashboards.
-
2
Click the Payout Method tab in the left-hand menu
Find and click the Payout Method option from the navigation menu on the left side of the dashboard. A setup window will open.
-
3
Select "Yes" for US Citizen or US Taxpayer
In the payout method form, select Yes for US Citizen or US Taxpayer.
-
4
Enter your ACH routing number, account number, bank name, and account type
Fill in all required bank details. Your ACH routing number is a 9-digit number found at the bottom of your checks or in your online banking portal. It is different from your wire transfer routing number.
⚠ Use your ACH routing number, not your wire transfer routing number. These are different numbers at most US banks. Using the wrong number causes payment delays that require support to resolve. -
5
Click Save
After confirming all information is accurate, click Save to complete your payout method setup. You are now ready to request a payout once your Performance Account qualifies.
ⓘ Complete this setup before you meet the qualifying conditions for your first payout, not after. The payout request button will appear once conditions are met, and you want to be ready to submit immediately.
Setting up Plane withdrawal for international traders
International traders use a two-stage setup process. The first stage is completed in the Apex dashboard before your first payout request. The second stage happens after your first payout is approved, when Plane sends an invitation email to link your local bank account.
Stage 1: Apex dashboard setup
-
1
Log in to your Apex dashboard and click the Payout Method tab
Go to dashboard.apextraderfunding.com and navigate to the Payout Method tab in the left-hand menu. Read the information on the pop-up window and scroll to the bottom to click the "CHANGE PAYOUT METHOD HERE" link.
-
2
Select "No" for US Citizen or US Taxpayer
In the payout method form, select No for US Citizen or US Taxpayer.
-
3
Enter your Government ID Number or Passport Number
Enter your government-issued ID number or passport number as it appears on your official document.
-
4
Select International for Payout Type
Under Payout Type, select International. This is required for all non-US traders regardless of country.
-
5
Enter your legal first and last name as it appears on your Apex profile
Use your legal name exactly as it appears on your Apex profile. Do not use special characters or symbols in the name field. Special characters may prevent successful processing.
-
6
Enter your email address and click Save
Use the same email address associated with your Apex dashboard login. Click Save to complete Stage 1.
ⓘ Stage 1 is complete but you are not yet fully set up to receive funds. Stage 2 happens automatically after your first payout is approved.
Stage 2: Plane account setup (after first payout approval)
After your first payout request is approved by Apex, you will receive an invitation email from Plane within 1 to 4 business days. The email will be sent to the address you used for your Apex account. Check your spam or junk folder if it does not arrive within a few days.
Follow the link in the Plane invitation email to create your Plane profile and link your local bank account. Your bank account must be located in the same country as your declared residency in Apex. A trader who lives in Germany must use a German bank account. A trader who lives in Brazil must use a Brazilian bank account. Requests using a bank account from a different country than your residency will be rejected.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Bank location | Must match your declared country of residence in Apex |
| ID verification | Government-issued ID or passport required |
| Must be the same email used for your Apex dashboard login | |
| Name format | Legal name exactly as on Apex profile, no special characters |
| Tax forms | Apex does not issue tax forms to non-US users |
| Plane invite wait time | 1 to 4 business days after first payout approval |
| If no email received | Check spam. Contact Apex only after 5 business days without the email |
Withdrawal limits: minimum, maximum, and the cap schedule
The minimum withdrawal amount per request is $500 regardless of account size or trail type. Your account balance must also exceed the minimum balance threshold (Safety Net plus $500) at the time of the request. If your balance is below the threshold, the request option will not appear.
The maximum withdrawal per request is determined by the payout cap schedule for your specific account size, trail type, and payout number. There is no single withdrawal limit independent of the cap schedule. A trader on their second payout from a $50K EOD account is capped at $1,500 for that request regardless of how much profit is in the account.
| Payout # | $25K max | $50K EOD max | $50K Intraday max | $100K max | $150K max |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $1,500 | $2,000 | $2,500 |
| 2 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $2,000 | $2,500 | $3,000 |
| 3 | $1,000 | $2,000 | $2,500 | $2,500 | $3,000 |
| 4 | $1,000 | $2,500 | $2,500 | $3,000 | $3,000 |
| 5 | $1,000 | $2,500 | $3,000 | $4,000 | $4,000 |
| 6 (final) | $1,000 | $3,000 | $3,000 | $4,000 | $5,000 |
There is no daily or weekly withdrawal frequency limit beyond the qualifying day requirement. Once a Performance Account has completed the conditions for a payout, a request can be submitted. The next payout cycle then begins: Apex requires 8 total trading days, including at least 5 days with $50 or more in net profit and no rule violations, before the next payout becomes eligible.
The full withdrawal timeline: from request to bank account
Submit your payout request
Select Request Payout from the Payouts tab in your Apex dashboard. Any eligible PA will be listed. Submit the request. You can continue trading immediately after submitting. Trade as if the requested amount has already been removed from your balance.
Apex reviews the request
Apex reviews payout requests within 2 business days. During this window your request is checked against all payout conditions. If any condition is not met, the request is denied automatically.
Funds sent to payment provider
If approved, funds are released to the payment provider within 3 to 4 business days of approval. Your dashboard will show PAID at this stage. PAID does not mean funds have arrived in your bank account. It means the transfer has been initiated.
Bank processes the deposit
Your bank or Plane processes the incoming transfer. ACH deposits typically clear within 3 to 7 business days after initiation. International transfers via Plane may take longer depending on your local bank and country. Most traders receive funds within 5 to 11 business days from the initial request.
If funds have not arrived after PAID status
Allow up to 7 additional business days after the dashboard shows PAID before taking any action. Do not submit a help desk ticket during this standard processing window. If funds still have not arrived after 7 additional business days, contact your bank first to confirm no issues on their end, then contact Apex support.
What causes a withdrawal to be denied
Balance fell below the minimum threshold after requesting
If your account balance drops below the minimum required balance (Safety Net plus $500) after you submit a request, the payout is automatically denied. You do not need to cancel the request. There is no penalty for the denial. Rebuild your balance above the threshold and the next qualifying cycle will allow you to request again.
Consistency rule blocked the request
If a single profitable day represents 50% or more of your total profit since the last approved payout, the request button will not appear. This is not a denial from Apex. It is a condition not yet met. Add more profitable trading days to reduce the top day's percentage share. The full mechanics are in the Apex consistency rule article.
Payout method not set up before requesting
If your ACH details or Plane information have not been entered in the Payout Method tab, your request may be delayed or denied. Set up your payout method before you meet the qualifying conditions, not after. The setup takes under five minutes and prevents avoidable delays.
Wrong routing number entered for ACH
US traders who enter a wire transfer routing number instead of an ACH routing number will experience payment failures. These require support to resolve and add days to the timeline. Confirm your ACH routing number specifically in your online banking portal before entering it in the Apex dashboard.
Bank country does not match residency for international traders
International payout requests are rejected if the bank account country does not match the declared country of residence in your Apex account. If you have moved or are using a bank account from a different country, update your payout method and residency information before requesting.
Tax considerations for withdrawals
Apex does not provide tax advice. How payout income is treated for tax purposes depends on your country of residence and your individual tax situation. Apex cannot advise on this and the help desk will not answer tax-related questions.
US traders receive standard US tax documentation for payouts received. Non-US traders do not receive tax forms from Apex. If you are an international trader, you are responsible for understanding and complying with local tax reporting requirements on income received through Plane. Consult a qualified tax advisor in your country if you are uncertain about your obligations.
Apex payouts are discretionary reward payments from a simulated trading program. How tax authorities in different jurisdictions classify these payments varies. Do not assume they are treated as trading income without confirming with a local tax professional.
Changing your withdrawal method
You can update your payout method at any time from the Payout Method tab in your Apex dashboard. For US traders, this means updating bank account details. For international traders, any change to residency or bank country must match before a payout can be processed.
If you move to a different country, update your declared residency in Apex and ensure your new bank account is in the correct country before submitting your next payout request. Attempting to pay out to a bank in a different country from your declared residency will result in an automatic rejection.
The full payout conditions that must be met before each withdrawal are covered in the Apex payout rules article. If you are not yet a funded trader, the cost and rules breakdown by account size is in the Apex account sizes guide.
If you have not yet started an evaluation, code ONKAGNVZ applies 90% off all evaluation fees during the current active sale.
