01 What happened

A second feed goes down, on a different provider.

BluSky says it's currently experiencing an ongoing data feed issue affecting Tradesea, one of the trading platforms it offers alongside NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Rithmic and Volumetrica. The firm says its team is investigating and will share an update once more information is available, but it hasn't given a timeline for resolution.

The notice was posted roughly ten hours before this report, making it the longer-running of two data feed problems affecting futures prop firms reported the same day. Halcyon Trader Funding separately confirmed a DXfeed outage of its own, a different provider entirely. The two incidents don't appear to share a common cause, since Tradesea runs on the Rithmic data feed rather than DXfeed, but the timing puts two feed-related outages in front of funded traders within hours of each other.

02 Who's affected

Tradesea traders specifically, not the whole firm.

Tradesea is a Rithmic-based platform that several prop firms, including BluSky, Lucid Trading and Tradeify, offer as one option among several. Because BluSky runs Tradesea alongside separate platforms like NinjaTrader, Tradovate and Volumetrica, a Tradesea-specific data issue would be expected to affect only the traders who chose that platform, not BluSky's funded traders as a whole.

For a trader on Tradesea right now, that likely means missing or delayed price data, and possibly the inability to place or manage trades reliably until the feed stabilizes. BluSky hasn't specified whether the issue sits with Tradesea itself or further upstream on the Rithmic connection Tradesea depends on.

03 Why it matters

Two outages, two providers, the same underlying dependency problem.

Prop firms don't build their own market data infrastructure from scratch. They plug into third-party providers, DXfeed, Rithmic, and others, and when one of those providers has a bad day, the firm's only real options are to wait it out or fail over to an alternative, neither of which happens instantly. That's true whether the affected provider is DXfeed, as with Halcyon Trader Funding, or the Rithmic feed underneath Tradesea, as with BluSky.

Two unrelated outages on the same day is a coincidence, not a pattern, but it's a reminder that a funded account's reliability depends on infrastructure the trader never chose and can't see into.
