A tournament, announced twice, with two different headline numbers.
FundedTradingPlus is running a one-week trading tournament from September 17 to September 23, with a leaderboard determined by final balance on a $100,000 simulated account carrying a 10% static maximum drawdown and 5% static daily drawdown. Winners are announced September 24.
The firm first announced this tournament on September 2, with the headline framing prizes "up to $100,000." On September 11, a follow-up announcement, largely a registration-deadline reminder, described the same event as offering "$245K in Prizes." The prize structure in both announcements is identical.
Ten prizes, added together.
| Place | Prize |
|---|---|
| 1st | $100,000 2-Step Classic Challenge |
| 2nd | $50,000 2-Step Classic Challenge |
| 3rd | $25,000 2-Step Classic Challenge |
| 4th – 10th | $10,000 2-Step Classic Challenge each (7 total) |
| Combined value | $245,000 |
$100,000 plus $50,000 plus $25,000 plus seven $10,000 prizes adds up to exactly $245,000. That's a real number, but it's the sum of ten separate accounts distributed across ten different winners, not a jackpot any single participant could win. The top individual prize, the $100,000 first-place account, hasn't changed between the two announcements.

Tournament accounts are simulated and run separately from any live challenge or funded account, so there's no risk to existing capital from participating.
Adding up prizes isn't the same as adding to them.
There's nothing inaccurate about a $245K total, and totaling a multi-winner prize structure into one headline figure is common practice across the industry. But it's worth noticing when a promotional number changes not because the offer changed, but because it was recalculated for a bigger-sounding headline partway through the campaign.
For anyone deciding whether to buy a challenge specifically to qualify, the number that actually matters is still the individual prize tier they'd realistically finish in, not the combined total across all ten winners.
