01 What happened

Fewer conditions on FT Instant payouts.

FundingTraders has announced a set of changes to its FT Instant funded accounts. As reported, the aim is to simplify the payout process and remove operational restrictions. The changes apply immediately to the Instant Funded account model.

02 What is confirmed

What was removed and what was added.

  • ✓The requirement for a minimum number of profitable days has been eliminated.
  • ✓The consistency rule that compared the biggest loss against the biggest win has been removed.
  • ✓The minimum profit needed to request a withdrawal is now 3.5%.
  • ✓On-demand payouts have been introduced, so traders can request profits without waiting for a fixed window.

These are all loosenings. The firm describes the 3.5% as a lowered threshold.

03 What remains uncertain

The announcement leaves several gaps.

  • ✓The earlier values. The previous payout threshold and payout schedule are not given, so the size of the change is unknown.
  • ✓Minimum days wording. On 17 September, FundingTraders said its Instant Funded accounts already had no minimum trading days. Today's announcement says the minimum profitable days requirement was eliminated. These may be two different rules, but the announcement does not explain the difference.
  • ✓Other limits. Account sizes, prices, profit split, drawdown, daily loss limit and payout caps are not described.
  • ✓Existing accounts. The changes are said to apply immediately to the model, which suggests existing accounts are included, but this is not spelled out.
04 Why this matters

A lower bar to a first withdrawal.

Setting the minimum profit for a payout at 3.5% and removing both the profitable days requirement and a consistency rule makes it simpler to know when a withdrawal is available. On-demand payouts add flexibility on timing.

The effect depends on the numbers the announcement leaves out, mainly drawdown, caps and the profit split. A low threshold helps less if payouts are capped or the drawdown is tight.

05 What happens next

What to confirm.

Worth confirming directly with FundingTraders: whether the 3.5% is measured on the initial balance, what the payout cap is, and how the removed profitable days rule differs from the minimum trading days rule it described on 17 September.

06 Comparing your options

Comparing instant-funding payout rules.

Payout thresholds and consistency rules vary a lot between instant-funding programmes. If payout flexibility matters to you, it is worth comparing against an established firm.
