01 What happened

Two changes, one day: faster rewards, a shorter window, and a configurable account.

Halcyon Trader Funding has reduced the number of qualifying trading days required before a reward request from eight to six across all its futures programs, alongside cutting the maximum evaluation period from 45 to 30 calendar days. The same day, the firm launched Halcyon Dynamic, a new evaluation model that lets traders configure their funded account's size, drawdown type, and consistency rule after passing.

All Halcyon Reward Accounts now require six qualifying trading days before a reward request can be made, down from the previous eight-day requirement. A trading day only qualifies when the account reaches the minimum daily profit set for its size, and the qualifying-day counter resets after each approved reward. Separately, the maximum evaluation period has been cut from 45 to 30 calendar days; the inactivity limit for Reward Accounts remains unchanged at 30 days. Halcyon attributes the shorter evaluation deadline to internal data on how traders actually use the programs.

Halcyon Dynamic, launched the same day, starts every trader with a $50,000 evaluation, purchasable with either an intraday trailing drawdown ($47) or an end-of-day drawdown ($49). Both versions carry a $3,000 profit target, a $2,000 maximum drawdown, a minimum of one trading day, and a maximum position of 5 minis or 25 micros. Once a trader passes, the funded account becomes customizable: account size, drawdown type, and consistency rule can each be chosen independently. Dynamic Reward Accounts carry a 90% profit split, no daily loss limit, and use the same new six-qualifying-day eligibility standard as the rest of Halcyon's lineup.

Comparing configurable account structures across firms is worth doing anywhere. Apex Trader Funding is another established futures firm worth comparing on documented terms, currently running a discount on evaluation fees.

02 Confirmed

What is confirmed.

The reward eligibility reduction, the shorter evaluation period, and the Halcyon Dynamic account's full customization structure and pricing are all confirmed directly in Halcyon's own announcements, both dated 2 September 2026.

03 Unresolved

What remains uncertain.

Halcyon did not specify the minimum daily profit thresholds or maximum reward amounts for each Dynamic account size combination, beyond stating these depend on the selected size.

04 The stakes

Why this matters.

Cutting reward eligibility from eight days to six is a genuine, favourable timing change for traders, shortening the wait before a first withdrawal request becomes possible. The shorter 30-day evaluation window cuts the other way: traders now have less time to complete an evaluation than before, which matters most for anyone who trades infrequently or takes a slower, more selective approach.

Editorial note

Halcyon Dynamic's customization is worth understanding as a tradeoff rather than a straightforward upgrade: choosing no consistency rule alongside end-of-day drawdown gives a genuinely different risk profile than intraday drawdown with the 40% rule, and traders should pick deliberately based on their own trading style rather than defaulting to whichever combination sounds most flexible.
