01 What happened

Trading was due to end on 1 October, and the money is short.

Nexgen ProTrader Funding has announced that it is closing for good. According to its statement, as reported by The Godfunded on 2 October, the firm has not been able to recover since it lost its credit card processing capability "last August", and that has used up its capital reserves. Nexgen describes the cause as financial insolvency.

Under the statement, from 1 October 2026 at 5:00 PM ET Nexgen was to stop selling evaluation accounts, funded accounts, Semi-Live programmes and resets. CME live data was to be disconnected at that time, all accounts disabled for trading and the community Discord server closed.

02 What is confirmed

What Nexgen says happens next, by account type.

Everything below is Nexgen's own account of its plans, as reported by The Godfunded. None of it has been independently verified.

GroupWhat Nexgen says
Approved payoutsRemaining funds do not cover all approved payouts in full. Each trader with a pending payout will be offered a percentage settlement of the total owed, with the amount and instructions sent to them individually.
Semi-Live accountsNo refunds. Eligible traders receive a complimentary Elite account of comparable value at Legends Prop Firm, with credentials and rules sent by Nexgen or Legends.
Evaluation accountsNot moved to Legends. Nexgen plans to refund the purchase price, subject to a final reconciliation of which accounts qualify.
Live Cash accountsClosed and reconciled through GFF Brokerage. Nexgen says the profit shares owed to these traders will be paid.
AffiliatesWill receive separate instructions on settling their balances.
03 What remains uncertain

The figures and dates Nexgen has not given.

The statement leaves out the numbers that matter most to affected traders.

  • ✓The settlement percentage. It is not stated, and it will be given to each trader individually. We do not know whether it is the same for everyone.
  • ✓Timing. No dates are given for settlement payments, refunds or the Legends account transfers.
  • ✓Refund eligibility. Refunds depend on a final reconciliation, and the criteria are not published.
  • ✓"Last August". The statement does not say which year. On 28 August 2026 Nexgen reported that approved payouts through 26 August were current, so we cannot tell from the report when the payment-processing problem began.
  • ✓Legends Prop Firm and GFF Brokerage. Neither firm's terms for the transfers or the Live Cash reconciliation are described, and we have not seen a statement from either.
04 Why this matters

A closure five weeks after a payout update.

On 28 August Nexgen said that all approved payouts through 26 August were current, that only four payments were pending, that a second payment processor was active and a third was planned, and that it expected payout times to return to 1 to 1.5 business days. Five weeks later it has announced that it cannot pay approved payouts in full. Both statements are Nexgen's own, and the new one does not explain the gap.

For traders, the practical difference is between money the firm has already approved and money it has not. A percentage settlement means some approved payouts will be paid at less than the amount owed. Semi-Live traders get an account at another firm instead of cash or a refund, and the value of that Elite account depends on Legends' own terms.

A note on wording

"Insolvency" here is Nexgen's own description of its position, as reported by The Godfunded. We have not seen any court filing or independent confirmation of the firm's legal or financial status, and this article makes no finding on it.

05 What happens next

What to watch for.

Nexgen says affected traders will be contacted individually. Worth watching for the settlement percentage, the dates for settlements and refunds, and any statement from Legends Prop Firm or GFF Brokerage on how the transfers and the Live Cash reconciliation will work. We will update this article if Nexgen publishes more detail or if we can see its own statement.
