One rule for every evaluation programme.
SureLeverageFunding has updated its news-trading policy across all evaluation programmes. From now on, trading "red folder" news events is prohibited in the window from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after the announcement.
The firm describes this as standardisation. Until now, some of its challenges allowed news trading and others did not, and the update removes that inconsistency.
Who is affected and what the add-on does.
The new restriction applies only to accounts purchased after the update. Accounts bought before it keep their original trading conditions.
- ✓Trading red-folder news is prohibited from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after the announcement, across all evaluation programmes.
- ✓The change removes the earlier inconsistency in which some challenges permitted news trading and others did not.
- ✓Traders buying Instant Funding Static or 1 Step accounts can select an add-on at checkout to enable news trading on those account types.
- ✓SureLeverageFunding advises traders to read the full rules in its FAQ.
Questions the announcement leaves open.
- ✓Other account types. The add-on is mentioned only for Instant Funding Static and 1 Step. It is not stated whether other programmes, such as 2 Step, Instant Funding Trailing or Instant Funding Lite, can buy it.
- ✓Instant Funding Zero. The announcement refers to evaluation programmes. Instant Funding Zero is a no-evaluation programme that reopened on 15 September with no profit cap, consistency rule or minimum trading days, and it is not stated whether the news rule covers it.
- ✓The add-on. Its price is not given, and it is not stated whether it removes the 5-minute window entirely.
- ✓Definitions. The report does not say which events count as red folder or which calendar the firm uses.
- ✓The cut-off. "After the update" is not tied to a date or time in the report, so it is unclear exactly which purchases count.
A tightening for new buyers, after a run of loosening.
This is a stricter rule, not a looser one. Traders who bought accounts on programmes that allowed news trading now face a 5-minute ban on new purchases, and the two account types that can buy the permission back do so through an add-on whose price is not stated.
It also runs against the direction of the firm's recent changes. On 11 August it removed its stop-loss requirement, lot-size consistency and margin rules for all accounts, new and existing. This time, the change applies only to new purchases and existing accounts are left as they are.
What to confirm before buying.
Worth confirming directly with SureLeverageFunding before buying: whether your chosen programme can take the news-trading add-on and at what price, and whether the rule applies to Instant Funding Zero.
Comparing news-trading rules across firms.
News-trading restrictions vary widely between firms and between account types at the same firm. If trading around high-impact events matters to you, it is worth comparing against an established alternative.
