A follow-up, not a repeat.
On 21 July 2026, we reported that a specific X post cited by The Prop Wire as evidence of organic trader interest in Take Profit Trader's free course was, in fact, a paid placement, one of at least three identical, templated promotions running the same week. One of those three, from the account @MarketMakerSins, was not the post Prop Wire specifically linked as its source that time, but was confirmed as part of the same paid campaign. On 31 July 2026, The Prop Wire published a second article on the same topic, and this time its "Source" link points directly to a new post from that same account. That post, dated 28 July 2026, is also marked "Paid partnership" by X, and uses the identical graphic and near-identical scripted copy as the account's earlier flagged post.
This is no longer a single miscited source. It's a demonstrated pattern that has now reached an account we already knew was running paid promotion for this exact story: the same account, and the same campaign, has been cited directly as a news source, eleven days after that account was already confirmed to be part of a paid push on this topic.
The Prop Wire's 31 July article, titled "Take Profit Trader's free course and auto-withdrawals draw social attention," reports that Take Profit Trader has been "a recurring name across X and Reddit over the past four days, with roughly 22 posts generating more than 2,100 engagements," and frames this as organic comparison-shopping behaviour among traders. The article's cited source is a post from @MarketMakerSins dated 28 July 2026.
That post is confirmed, directly, to carry X's own "Paid partnership" disclosure label. It uses the same graphic (captioned "Trading for Beginners: Start Here," with icons for "Complete in 82 Minutes," "100% Free," "8 Short, Practical Lessons," and "No Credit Card Required") and near-identical scripted copy to the account's 19 July post, which was one of three paid placements documented in our earlier reporting on this exact topic.
What is confirmed.
Two things are now independently confirmed. First, @MarketMakerSins ran the same paid Take Profit Trader promotion at least twice within nine days, 19 July and 28 July, using identical creative both times. Second, this same account, already confirmed as part of a paid campaign in our original reporting, has now been specifically linked as The Prop Wire's own chosen "Source" citation in a second article, without the paid disclosure being noted.
@MarketMakerSins posts the paid Take Profit Trader promotion. Confirmed as one of three identical paid placements documented in our original reporting, though a different account's post was the one Prop Wire specifically linked as its source that time.
Confirmed, paid postThe Prop Wire's first article cites a post from a different account, @TradingSynHQ, also confirmed paid, as evidence of "roughly 32 posts" of organic trader discussion.
Miscited as organic@MarketMakerSins posts the identical paid promotion again, also marked "Paid partnership."
Confirmed, paid postThe Prop Wire's second article cites this new post as evidence of "roughly 22 posts" of organic trader discussion.
Miscited as organic, againWhat remains uncertain.
The 31 July article also references a second product feature, fully automated withdrawals through Tradovate PRO, which we have not independently verified and which was not part of our original reporting. This is a separate claim from the sourcing issue and should not be assumed accurate or inaccurate based on the pattern documented here.
We also do not know whether The Prop Wire's broader "roughly 22 posts" figure in the new article includes further paid placements beyond the one we've checked, the same limitation we noted in our original piece regarding its "32 posts" figure.
Why this matters.
A single miscited source is consistent with an oversight, a disclosure label missed while skimming a post for its content. This is a different, and arguably more significant, kind of miss: an account already confirmed to be running paid promotion for this exact story has now been specifically selected as a news source, eleven days after that confirmation was public. That suggests either that this outlet is not checking accounts against previously identified paid campaigns, or that its process for distinguishing paid from organic signal has a structural gap that a single correction did not close.
Neither explanation reflects poorly on Take Profit Trader itself. The firm's paid promotion is disclosed correctly, on the platform, every time. The issue remains specifically about how that disclosed promotion gets read, and re-read, by outlets covering "buzz" as if it were independent trader sentiment.
What happens next.
We will update this piece if The Prop Wire addresses its sourcing process, or if further paid placements from this or other accounts are identified feeding into either article's engagement figures.
Questions, answered.
